I bought this CD on the recommendation of a friend whose taste in music is similar, even though I had never heard of the Spermatochords and can't find them on youtube. I don't regret it. Melodic, jazzy rock with intelligent lyrics that alternate between sarcasm, regret and desire. Makes you think a little while tapping your toes. I can hear the Steely Dan influence on Black Tahitian Pearl, but otherwise this album is unique. There isn't anything out there quite like it. Absolutely love Guilty Pleasure, A Gardener's Lament, Hole in my Pocket, Scene of the Crime and Chartreuse (from Hedley's Medey). No filler. Great slide guitar and distinctive vocals. I highly recommend it if you are into melodic pop/rock/jazz.
